What: Informational meeting about a potential OK consortia for digital preservation
Who: OK archival collection holders with digital collections content
Where: Oklahoma Department of Libraries, 2nd floor Conference Room, 200 NE 18th Street, Oklahoma City
When: Thursday, October 25th, 2-4pm
With the amount of digital content in Oklahoma libraries and museums exponentially increasing, the management of these resources to ensure long-term access is more critical than ever. Digital Preservation Network (DPN) representatives Mary Molinaro (Executive Director) and Emily Gore (Director of Member Services) will speak about strategies for preserving long-term access to the valuable digital content created and acquired by Oklahoma libraries and museums.
Because of the prior success in statewide collaboration in Oklahoma on other projects, they would like to propose launching a collaborative digital preservation program. Mary and Emily would like to work with Oklahoma libraries to explore a consortia model of preserving Oklahoma content in DPN.
This discussion meeting is open to any individual interested in hearing more about long term planning for digital cultural heritage material/records management. Please share broadly.
