Vote for OAA Vice President
We have two incredible candidates for the position of OAA Vice President for the 2018 – 2019 year. The results of this election will be effective immediately.
VP Candidate: Rachel Henson
Rachel Henson is an archivist with eight years of experience in the library and information science field. She joined the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center as an archivist in 2015. In this position, she manages all processing projects, consisting of large amounts of paper and digital material created by former members of Congress. She also provides regular reference to a wide variety of patrons, creates policies and workflows, assists with outreach events in the community, and creates archival content for the Center’s social media pages. At OU, she serves as co-chair of the Archival Research Collections (ARC) Consortium, a University-wide organization. She is also a member of the Oklahoma Archivists Association, the Society of Southwest Archivists, and the Society of American Archivists.
Rachel would be a great fit for the Vice President and eventual President and Immediate Past President positions because she has great organizational and leadership skills. She listens well and tries to find the best solution for all parties which are both skills she uses on a regular basis as processing archivist and ARC co-chair and she will utilize them when working with OAA’s various committees, officers and members. She is motivated, ready to lead, and excited about this organization and its potential to do great work in the great state of Oklahoma!
VP Candidate: Jennifer (Day) Green
Jennifer (Day) Green is the first municipal archivist for The City of Oklahoma City. Jennifer maintains the records retention schedule for the City and serves as records management consultant for all departments. Based in the Office of City Clerk, her position as archivist includes processing and preservation of permanent records, identification and preservation of inactive records with historical value and developing museum quality exhibits for display in City Hall. Jennifer currently serves as the Past-President of the Society of Southwest Archivists, she is on the board of the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, the Oklahoma Historical Records Advisory Board, and the local ARMA-OKC chapter. If elected, Jennifer is excited to bring her leadership experience to the Oklahoma Archivists Association.
