Thursday April 5, Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond hosted the regional History Day competition. Students in grades 6-12 submitted work in multiple categories hoping to make their way to the statewide contest held May 2-3, 2018 at the Oklahoma History Center. OAA members JJ Compton, Jennifer Day, and Lauren Reipl served as judges in the exhibit and research paper categories. Volunteering to judge at the regional or state History Day competition is a great way to support the program while interacting with young people who are excited about historical study. There is always a need for help, you can still register for the state contest on the Oklahoma History Center’s website.
