Hello OAA members!
After the success of virtual archives tours leading up to the 2019 OK Archives Bazaar, we want to keep up the effort to promote archival collections in the state by highlighting your repository!
We want to profile your work through a short virtual tour of your archive via the OAA Facebook channel (Thanks Chad Williams for the idea).
All you need is a smart phone, laptop, or desktop with audio and video recording capabilities (webcam/microphone) and access to a relatively stable internet connection.
The tours last from 5-10 minutes and take about 15 -20 minutes to create.
The format is a short introduction of you and your repository, some highlights from your collection and maybe a glimpse at physical space (archives, reading room or office space) – or even interesting projects/initiatives that are currently underway. You can also share a brief preview of your online presence (if applicable) and describe or show how to search your collections.
Check out our latest tour with Oklahoma Christian University archives or past tours of Southern Nazarene University’s Fred Floyd Archives, The American Banjo Museum, and Oklahoma State University Oklahoma Oral History Research Program collections – and thanks for those who have participated!
If you are interested in scheduling a time to pre-record a tour, or want to know more contact Sarah Milligan at sarah.milligan@okstate.edu.
We are hoping to profile at least 1 repository every month! Let us share about your awesome repository!
