Archiving Women’s March Materials
Guest post by osu library archives
The Women’s Archives at the Oklahoma State University Library is accepting donations of photos, videos, signs, and other materials related to the Jan. 20, 2018, Women’s Marches in Oklahoma. The Archives gathered similar materials after the 2017 marches and hopes to expand its holdings by documenting subsequent gatherings. Once processed, the collection will be open to the public and of value to those interested in a variety of fields, from history to gender and women’s studies, media studies, political science, art history, and others. The Women’s Archives is soliciting contributions of both physical items (such as signs, buttons, stickers, and flyers) and digital materials (e.g., photos, videos, organizational files, emails, or social media). If you are interested in donating, please contact David Peters at david.peters@okstate.edu, 405-744-6597.
The Women’s Archives at Oklahoma State University serves as a central information source about women associated with Oklahoma. Its goal is to preserve the contributions women make to the state in all areas, including science, culture, business, and government, and it welcomes gifts that reflect women’s interests, activities, and intellectual pursuits from territorial days to the present. If you have questions about the Women’s Archives more generally, please contact Mary Larson at mary.larson@okstate.edu, 405-744-6588.
